Christchurch Lodge
Located in the foothills of the Southern Alps west of Christchurch, our Lodge is
a magnificent Historic Places Trust listed homestead set in 25 acres of established grounds
less than an hours drive from the centre of Christchurch.
The Lodge was built in 1912 for Wilfred Hill, son of former Prime Minister
Sir John Hill. Recognised by the National Business Review as one of the top 100 houses in New
Zealand, Gunyah Country Estate is home to the largest private collection of colonial antiques in New Zealand.
